ospreyThe 2013 Annual Summer Meeting will find us at Osprey Beach Hotel in Grand Turk, BWI. – Grand Turk has one of the most lush wall systems in the entire world. Healthy corals, diverse marine life and visibility that exceed 100 feet often call divers from around the world. Grand Turk has maintained the charm of small islands to which people long to escape. Only seven miles long, one mile wide, and the wall starting just 300 yards from shore, this quaint island is the ideal location for a dive vacation.
The Osprey Beach Hotel is an intimate oceanfront hideaway where visitors
can relax and enjoy the marvels of the Caribbean Ocean.
Imagine your sipping a cold drink poolside, soaking in the warm Caribbean sun, or watching for the elusive green flash.
There are many things to do in Grand Turk. Scuba Diving may be this island’s main attraction, but don’t let that stop you from exploring the island’s history, culture and local people, also known as ‘belongers’. A leisurely stroll through Cockburn town will reveal the history of the island or cruise around Grand Turk by bicycle and see the different style of island homes, some more than a century old. A visit to the lighthouse will show you the only guidepost mariners had to steer them away from the treacherous Northeast reef, extending eastward far out to sea and responsible for an untold number of shipwrecks. There are many other things you can do on the island. Play golf at the Governor’s own 9 Hole Golf Course. Take a ride to see the Pink
Flamingos at North Creek. Go horseback riding up and down the white sandy beaches. If working out is your thing, Grand Turk even has a full gym! The ISAM dive group has scheduled 5 days 2 tank wall dives with Oasis Divers. Dale Barker and Captain Everett Freites owners of Oasis Divers have a great customer friendly dive shop oceanfront in Grand Turk. They have the boats
and staff to handle the ISAM divers in July with success. Catering to small groups, divers are taken on comfortable 28’ dive boats to the spectacular dive sites. It is no secret that the best scuba diving is usually found off the beaten path, and Grand Turk has some of the most pristine wall diving in the world. The walls here are renowned for amazing diversity of hard and soft corals. Sponge growth is also prolific, and overall the reef system is incredibly lush and healthy. Tunnels, arches, undercuts, outcrops… all the sites have their own special predominant features that creates a special variety and magic all their own. With the combination of excellent service, the best wall diving in the Caribbean and the charm of the Grand Turk you can’t go wrong.

Keynote Speaker: The scientific sessions will be conducted by Ann
Barker-Griffith, MD of SUNY Upstate Medical University and will feature as our
